Project #7 Autobiographical Game
Description
My Cat
My Cat once lost his way home and it worried us a lot as he's a house can and can't survive on the streets as well with stray dogs around and having to hunt for food. We were constantly looking for him and worried and he finally did make his way back home and that was one of the happiest moments in my life. This game is a reflection of what I empathize my cat to have dealt with when he lost his way.
Design Process
The idea
- 1.Started by making a list of what my cat might be dealing with
- 2. Main concern would be him finding food and staying away from the stray dogs
- 3. Finding his way home would be a concern after that
Approach
- 1. Level one is my cat moving around collecting food on the screen and dodging the dogs
- 2. A life is lost everytime my cat comes to close to the dog and he has to collect all the food to get to level 2
- 3. Level 2 is just my cat having to cross a moving fence to reach home
-
Reflection
As someone who doesn't play games I had a hard time thinking about what to make for a game and what is a game even? is it a system of survival vs reward? Maybe it can just be an experience where your decisions reflect on the final outcome or different journeys to achieve the same outcome.
